Although 1993 marks the start of his multifaceted professional career in music and visual arts, it would be 12 years before the first voluminous collection of GE-OLOGY's music appears. Originally released in 2005, 'GE-OLOGY Plays GE-OLOGY' is the 1st full-length LP release by visual artist, producer, DJ and vinyl collector/music connoisseur, GE-OLOGY. The album is a 'mixtape style' retrospective of past 12s, classic collaborations and rare unearthed beats composed, mixed and conceived by the Renaissance man himself. But for this special '15 Year Anniversary Edition'...the complete track list is presented UNMIXED for the very first time! Like his visual style, intricate, referential street and vibrant, 'Ge-ology Plays Ge-ology' was initially presented as a seamless mix of buttery hip hop, fluid syncopations and progressive soul. His story is an incredible journey steeped in fascinating history...from provided a young Tupac Shakur's earliest beats [in their high school days], to later recording tracks for Mos Def & Talib Kweli, Jill Scott, De La Soul, Jem, Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon) and many others. Extensively touring the planet DJing festivals and clubs, as well as showcasing his amazing visual art, his diversity has culminated in a wide footprint of creative expression worldwide. From painting murals on walls, to live painting performances on garments worn by fashion models in Hong Kong...his art has graced T-shirt designs, layouts of LP & CD packaging, editorial illustrations for major publications, iconic cover art illustrations for vinyl releases, animated station IDs for the Comedy Central network, and more! His legendary "Dooable Arts" partnership with the late Matt "Doo" Reid, or painting with fellow Barnstormer art collective friends featured in a global campaign for the retail giant H&M, or simply producing music included in the critically acclaimed film, "The Kids Are All Right", GE-OLOGY has proven that music & art, lineage and forward thinking are all mutually exclusive; 'Ge-ology Plays Ge-ology' represents this incredible spectrum.
